Ric Flair Issues Emotional Statement After Publicly Apologizing To WWE Star
Ric Flair has been on an apology spree.
Since making a recent virtual appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, The Nature Boy has copped criticism for several comments he made during the nearly hour-long interview.
He even claimed that he was banned from WrestleMania because he threatened to beat up Ludwig Kaiser because of an in-ring segment between Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair, where Stratton brought up Charlotte’s past marriages.
At the time, Stratton was Kaiser’s real-life partner.
Flair also branded Kaiser as ‘that English kid,’ misremembering the latter’s nationality, which is German, and also his age as 24 when Ludwig was 34 at the time.
He may have also misinterpreted him not being invited to WrestleMania because of Kaiser, when the truth is that he is still signed with rival promotion, All Elite Wrestling.
On April 28, he took to X to publicly apologize to Ludwig Kaiser, stating that he did not undermine him as a wrestler, but his comments came from a place where he was protective of his children.
Mr. Ludwig Kaiser @wwe_kaiser- I Never Implied That You Couldn’t Work, Or Didn’t Have Talent. I Actually Understand That You Are Doing Really Well With The Undertaker’s Promotion. I Am Sorry That I Got Upset. I Am Naturally Very Protective Of My Daughters As I Am Sure As You Grow Older, You Will Be Too. Continued Success! I Apologize For Anything I Said About You Personally. It Was Not About Your Professional Skill Which I Have Heard Is Very Good.
Kaiser, meanwhile, has not acknowledged any of Ric Flair’s criticism or the apology, considering he is no longer Tiffany Stratton’s partner.
Ric Flair Apologizes Again For His Interview Debacle
On April 29, Ric Flair again issued a statement via Twitter, where he apologized for making incorrect assumptions during the Ariel Helwani interview.
In doing so, he reminded his fans that he was a 77-year-old wrestler with a heart condition, and sought peace rather than facing an online attack.
I Have Apologized, And I Have Retracted Statements. I Have Made Assumptions That Are Incorrect. I Acknowledge Everything That I Have Said. Can We Just Wake Up Tomorrow & Let Ric Flair Be Ric Flair. I Am 77 With A Heart Condition And Nothing Is Ever Guaranteed. Let’s Just All Be… pic.twitter.com/GsyIjlxvNP

Over time, Flair’s relationship with his former employer, WWE, has gradually deteriorated.
He recently accused the Stamford promotion of cutting his finances by severing his ties to Roots Of Fight, a lifestyle and apparel brand.
