More details about Rey Mysterio’s new WWE contract have come to light.
On December 18th it was reported that Dominik Mysterio had signed a new contract with WWE. ‘Dirty Dom’ has enjoyed the best year of his career in 2023, winning the NXT North American Title twice and starring on Raw as part of Judgment Day. It’s believed that his new contract is for five years.
The news was followed by reports that Rey Mysterio had also signed a new contract.
It’s now been confirmed by Haus of Wrestling that the Lucha legend’s new deal is for three years. Furthermore, the WWE Hall of Famer plans to wrestle throughout his new contract despite his well-documented injury problems.
Rey Mysterio had previously claimed he would retire aged 50 — the star turned 49 on December 11th.
Rey Mysterio Out Injured
Rey Mysterio is currently out of action after being written off television on November 10th. On SmackDown, the star was attacked by Santos Escobar with the beatdown to cover for a a real life knee injury.
The veteran later underwent surgery to repair the issue, but he’s expected back within weeks.
Mysterio had initially suffered the injury months earlier, but it got progressively worth in the lead up to Crown Jewel.
