Report: Change To WWE’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match

TJR Wrestling

World Wrestling Entertainment’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view event will take place on Sunday, June 19 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The major multi-man ladder match for which the pay-per-view is named after has reportedly seen a change in regards to how many wrestlers will be competing in it.

The Money in the Bank ladder match was originally supposed to see seven wrestlers competing for a chance to win the Money in the Bank briefcase. However, during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw, we saw a graphic that did not include a seventh man. This is also the case on this week’s yet to be aired edition of SmackDown. As of right now, the plan is that the match is currently scheduled to be a six-man match instead of seven. However, in typical WWE fashion, that plan can always change. This is according to Dave Meltzer’s most recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

As of right now, the six participants for June 19’s Money in the Bank ladder match are: Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Dean Ambrose, Chris Jericho, Cesaro and Alberto Del Rio.

Mark’s reaction: I don’t have a problem with this news. I’m happy if WWE ends up sticking with these six guys. They don’t really need a seventh wrestler to be included anyway. It also seems like WWE changes the number of Money in the Bank participants every year, so it’s not like this is a big change in the grand scheme of things. I still think there is a possibility that WWE will surprise us and include someone else at the last minute, but I honestly think WWE doesn’t even know what they are going to do yet anyway.
