Multiple Real Fights Broke Out At Performance Center, Claims Ex-WWE Champion
Former WWE Champion Matt Riddle recently stirred some buzz after claiming that things have gotten a bit heated among recruits at the WWE Performance Center.
Speaking on the Rewind, Recap, Relive on February 21, 2026, Riddle said he’s heard from people inside WWE’s developmental system that there have been “a lot of fights” breaking out lately.
According to him, the tension mainly comes from clashes between traditional pro wrestlers and athletes coming in from other sports, like former college or pro players, who “don’t fully understand the business”.
Riddle explained, “From what I’ve heard, there have been a lot of fights at the Performance Center. I know a lot of people there, and apparently there’s been more tension because these athletes don’t fully understand how things work.” [H/T Rinside News]
His comments came shortly after a recent WWE tryout class. So far, WWE hasn’t responded to Riddle’s claims or confirmed that any physical altercations actually took place.
Ex-WWE Star Matt Riddle On Brock Lesnar’s Intimidating Personality
Speaking on the same interview, Matt Riddle also talked about Brock Lesnar’s intimidating personality. He shared that not only are the locker room talents scared of The Beast Incarnate, but backstage producers also fear him. Riddle added that although Lesnar is scary, he’s not intimidated by him.
“Every producer fears Brock Lesnar. It’s kind of — I respect everybody, I love everybody — but I hate seeing people get scared. You shouldn’t be. If this guy attacks you, have him arrested. That’s against the rules. We are a society. You can’t just act like a Neanderthal.”
“Granted, he is intimidating. He grabbed me by my neck before, but I wasn’t intimidated. He grabbed me quite gently, actually. He does know how to work.”
