Randy Orton Was Denied Unique WWE Entrance By Vince McMahon

Randy Orton

Randy Orton wanted to do something different for his entrance during a big match, but his former WWE boss Vince McMahon said no.

The tag team of Randy Orton and Matt Riddle was known as RK-Bro. They were a very popular duo who had a lot of great matches with different teams in WWE during their run.

There was some awkwardness to the RK-Bro team since Riddle was known as a bit of a stoner who liked to ramble on about things while Orton was known for being one of the most serious wrestlers in WWE.

At WWE Crown Jewel 2021, Randy Orton and Matt Riddle defended the Raw Tag Team Titles against AJ Styles & Omos. During their entrance, Riddle was riding a camel while Orton walked to the ring slowly as usual.

In a revelation that may surprise some WWE fans, Matt Riddle revealed on the Developmentally Speaking podcast that Orton wanted to ride a camel too, but former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon shot that idea down.

“I remember when we were in Saudi and I rode the camel and Randy was like, ‘I want to ride a camel.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, Randy — get Randy on a camel.’

And then Vince was like, ‘No.’ Randy’s like, ‘Why not?’ He’s [Vince] like, ‘Your character wouldn’t ride a camel.’ What a simple answer, you know?”

RK-Bro won that tag team match after Styles & Omos when Orton hit an RKO on Styles followed by Riddle hitting the Floating Bro for the win.

Matt Riddle Hoping For WWE Return Leading To More Interaction With Randy Orton

It was in September 2023 when Matt Riddle was released by WWE. At the time, Randy Orton was out of action with a serious back injury that put him on the shelf for 18 months before his November 2023 return to the ring. While speaking on the same podcast, Riddle made it clear he wants another run in WWE.

“I loved everything I did. I wish I would have been able to finish the run with Randy [Orton], with his injuries and then when we first started teaming up, he got COVID and was out for a couple months, he got it really bad.

Then with the injuries, he’d have to take weeks off here and there. I was honestly waiting for him to come back…like I said, the one that I really wanted to finish was RK-Bro. RK-Bro has some untied ends, some loose ends if you will. It’d be nice to finish that, even if it’s just me getting punted, whatever.

It’d be nice to put a period at the end of it….RK-Bro, I’d like to finish that. But if I don’t, me and Randy are still friends. He texts me and messages me all the time, and that feels good enough. So yeah, I’m happy.”

Randy Orton has been away from WWE TV since the November 8th episode of Smackdown due to Kevin Owens hitting him with a piledriver. Orton left on a stretcher that night and it’s unknown when he will return.
