“Old Man” CM Punk Mocked By Younger WWE Star

CM Punk WWE

A younger WWE star isn’t too fond of CM Punk, who is one of the oldest wrestlers in the company.

CM Punk is no stranger to people talking trash about him. Whether it’s Drew McIntyre or Seth Rollins, plenty of people in WWE love talking about how much they don’t like the former WWE World Champion.

When CM Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, his first matches back in a WWE ring were in late December at live events when he beat Dominik Mysterio. While Punk and Dominik have been doing different things on the Raw brand over the last year, their paths could cross in the future.

During an interview with O’Shea Jackson Jr & TJ Jefferson on No Contest Wrestling, Dominik Mysterio took some shots at CM Punk, who is nearly 20 years older than Dominik.

“I had the great dishonor of welcoming Punk back after ten long years. It was everything I expected it to be, just an old man trying to do his thing. Thinks he’s still got it. He went out there in some plain black underwear. Didn’t even have his gear. It was definitely a sight to see.

Overall, I’m glad the company was able to trust me to get in there with CM Punk and give him his first couple of punches back as a nice welcome-home gift. That energy we had in there was definitely something special. I feel like he owes me something, too. I’m sure he remembers, he sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to my sister. I was probably 12 years old and he sang Happy Birthday to her. He cornered my whole family when he had his shitty long black hair. What was his group? The society? [Straight Edge Society]. I didn’t remember it because it doesn’t matter.

Now that I’m my own man and he doesn’t have to corner me into a corner, I would love to get my hands on him again. Now that I’m prepared and ready. I’ve seen kind of what he can do. It’s nothing special. He does the same things. I’m pretty sure I can read his playbook. Actually, here’s a good one, I know his moveset.”

The “moveset” line was said with a smile while most of those comments were likely done in character. The reason Dominik smiled when mentioning “moveset” is because CM Punk has made it clear he doesn’t like the word “moveset” when it comes to pro wrestling. The backstory there is that Punk’s former AEW rival “Hangman” Adam Page used that word during his feud with Punk and it upset Punk at that time too.

Could CM Punk Face Roman Reigns At WrestleMania?

Unfortunately for CM Punk, he missed competing at WrestleMania 40 due to injury, but there are reports that Punk could be in a huge match at WrestleMania 41 against former WWE Champion Roman Reigns. As WWE fans know, when it comes to WrestleMania matches, plans can always change.

In the more immediate future, CM Punk will face his rival Seth “Freakin” Rollins on the January 6th episode of Raw, which is the first Raw episode on Netflix. That match is expected to be the main event of that show.
