NXT Star Announces They’re Leaving

NXT Cora Jade

The Cora Jade mystery continues.

As seen on the August 1st broadcast of NXT, Jade walked into the women’s locker room and announced she was leaving. The former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion grabbed some fan mail and wished the rest of the roster good luck before storming out.

Frustrations have seemingly pushed Jade to breaking point in recent weeks of programming. Firstly, Jade would lose a kendo stick match to Dana Brooke after Brooke hit a Swanton Bomb onto Jade onto a steel chair to pick up the victory.

Fast forward 5 days to NXT most recent Premium Live Event The Great American Bash. Not featured on the card, Jade would express her disappointment at being left out by posting a social media update on platform X/Twitter that she has not been on a PLE card in over a year. This would be Jade’s final post on Twitter, announcing shortly afterwards that fans can exclusively find her on Instagram.

Jade has broken her silence following the sudden departure. The former Team 2001 member posted a peace out emoji on her Instagram story, referencing the exit on Tuesday night.

Is Cora Jade Leaving NXT?

It is not known what the nature of the sudden walkout is for the former champion. While some have speculated that this walkout is all part of a storyline and signifies Jade’s imminent main roster callup, others believe this could be the end of the WWE journey. It should be noted that at the time of writing, Jade is still listed as an active WWE Superstar on the roster page.

Following a career on the independent circuit as Elayna Black, which included appearances in AEW and GCW, Cora Jade would sign with the developmental WWE brand in 2021. Along with one reign as the Women’s Tag Team Champions with Roxanne Perez, Jade would put on a star making performance at the Women’s WarGames match in 2021.
