It would seem that plans are in place for a fresh version of World Of Sport in the UK, which could see involvement from Nick Aldis and Mickie James.

World Of Sport was iconic in the United Kingdom until its demise in 1985. It was finally rebooted with a one-off special on New Year’s Eve in 2016, and a full series was commissioned in 2018, with a short tour of the country the following year.

In an exclusive discussion with Inside The Ropes, sources close to World Of Sport have confirmed that they are looking to set up a new version of the series, potentially with a different model to that which has been seen previously.

The report suggests that the company will be looking to produce a studio-style television show to sit alongside the live events. This would be similar to the model which became popular under the NWA – and they’ve been in contact with one of the company’s former World Champions as well.

According to the report, the company have been in touch with Nick Aldis to gauge his interest in getting involved. There have apparently been conversations between the two parties, and there is also interest in his wife Mickie James being part of the plans.

Nick Aldis recently revealed that he would be leaving the NWA, which led to him being removed from events despite still being committed to fulfilling the dates. This has led to comments flying backwards and forwards between himself and NWA Owner Billy Corgan, who Aldis has criticized for his lack of wrestling experience.

Meanwhile, Mickie James is competing in IMPACT Wrestling on her ‘Last Rodeo’, vowing to retire when she next loses a contest. She kept up the current winning streak on the 10th November programme, where she defeated Chelsea Green.
