Mystery Remains Over Jack Perry’s Long AEW Absence

Jack Perry

There are several missing AEW stars currently on the company’s roster and now some more insight has been given as to why Jack Perry isn’t on TV.

The last time AEW fans saw Jack Perry on TV was back in January at Wrestle Dynasty, where he lost to Yota Tsuji in a match for the IWGP Global Title. Perry already suffered a nine-month absence from AEW for his part in the backstage altercation that led to CM Punk being fired by Tony Khan in 2023.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked about several missing AEW stars and gave some insight into two who are currently on the injured list:

Wardlow has a knee injury, Keih Lee had surgery on I think both knees and is waiting to come back.

Meltzer’s co-host, Bryan Alvarez, then shed some light on some other missing AEW stars who seemingly are ready to come back to TV:

I am under the impression that Killswitch, Britt Baker, and Jungle Boy; there is nothing preventing them from being on television right now except they are not being booked on television, and I don’t know why.

Jack Perry Not Injured Amid AEW Absence

Meltzer expanded on what he knows about the situation surrounding Jack Perry:

Jack Perry, I know is – he can be booked, he’s just not right now, as far as why I don’t know. I just remember I had a conversation about when Jack Perry’s coming back and it’s like he is, [Tony Khan’s] got the guys he’s using right now and when he has the need for Jack Perry to be back, he’ll be back. I don’t know when that’ll be.

During his absence, Perry’s teammates in The Elite have continued as a unit. If he is still part of that team, if and when he makes his return to AEW, remains to be seen.
