MJF & Tony Khan Discuss AEW Possibly Running Shows In Mexico

aew all in mjf tony khan press conference

The AEW World Champion MJF wants to wrestle in Mexico while Tony Khan addressed if that’s going to happen.

AEW All In London took place at Wembley Stadium in front of 81,000+ fans at the company’s first-ever show in England.

Not only was it the biggest paid crowd for a pro wrestling PPV, which led to AEW celebrating their records, but it was the company’s first show outside of the US or Canada as well.

After All In London at the post-show press conference, AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman and AEW CEO, GM & Head of Creative Tony Khan were asked about the company possibly running a show in Mexico.

MJF: “I want to go to Aztec Stadium so f**king bad. It’s not up to me, but you can fit a whole lot of people in Aztec Stadium. I love the Mexican people, I love the Mexican culture, and boy do I love Mexican food. I’m going to let him take that question now and I pray to God that I just peer pressured the f**k out of him into saying maybe or yes.”

Tony Khan: “I think he nailed it. That’s a great venue and there are so many great venues. That is a great idea and it’s something to consider. That’s absolutely something we would like to do under the right circumstances. We have some great partners in Lucha Libre and I think that’s an exciting idea.”

MJF: “Mexican people love the champ.”

It is worth noting that Maxwell Jacob Friedman has openly talked about the “bidding war of 2024” while claiming he is a free agent in January, so if that’s the case then he may not be on the AEW roster if they go to Mexico in 2024. Anyway, MJF could also be working as well.

MJF Won Two Matches At AEW All In London

In the main event, MJF defeated his good friend Adam Cole to retain the AEW World Championship with an inside cradle. After the match, MJF hugged a frustrated Cole to show they are still “best friends” even though Cole was frustrated about losing.

Earlier in the same night, MJF and Cole won the ROH Tag Team Titles from Aussie Open on the Zero Hour Pre-Show.

This coming Sunday, AEW will be running the AEW All Out pay-per-view from Chicago. Currently, MJF is not announced for any match on that card. At the press conference after All Out, he indicated that he was heading to France for some fun.
