AEW World Title Match Announced For Worlds End PPV

MJF AEW World Champion

The longest reigning AEW World Champion MJF knows it will be a tough test at the Worlds End pay-per-view.

At AEW Dynamite in Chicago, Maxwell Jacob Friedman was in the ring doing a promo with fellow ROH Tag Team Champion Adam Cole. They were interrupted by Samoa Joe, who teamed with MJF at Full Gear to retain the ROH Tag Team Titles.

Going into that match at Full Gear, it was well known that Joe would only team with MJF because Joe wanted to get an AEW World Title match.

During their promo exchange, MJF didn’t seem interested in honoring the deal that was made, but Adam Cole tried to convince MJF that it was the right thing to do since MJF gave Joe his word.

As the discussion continued, MJF said fine, he would defend the AEW World Title against Joe right there in Chicago. Joe said no to that because MJF had a cane with him due to a left leg injury. Joe said he wanted MJF to be 100% healthy, so Joe suggested a match at the AEW World End pay-per-view in Long Island, New York, which is MJF’s hometown.

MJF agreed to the match and it was made official by AEW during the Dynamite broadcast. At Worlds End on December 30th, MJF will defend the AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe.

Samoa Joe Will Protect MJF Before Their AEW World Title Match

There was an interesting part of the promo exchange when Joe said that MJF is Joe’s property from now on.

Joe said that he would be a few steps behind Max whenever he saw him. It was Joe’s way of saying that he had MJF’s back to make sure that MJF was 100% when they had their match at Worlds End. Joe said that we would see the best MJF at Worlds End, which is when Joe is going to strangle him and take the AEW World Title from him in front of MJF’s friends and family.

The MJF/Samoa Joe match at the Worlds End pay-per-view will be a rematch of their AEW World Title match on the September 6th episode of Dynamite when Friedman barely survived as the World Champion against Joe. The Samoan Submission Machine wanted another shot at the champion and he’ll get it at Worlds End.
