There’s good news for Tony Khan as one AEW star is finally cleared to return following injury.

Back in October 2025, Tony Khan revealed the brackets for the tournament to crown the first-ever AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions. Timeless Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa, Alex Windsor and Riho, Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford, Anna Jay and Tay Melo, Athena and Mercedes Mone, Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron, Skye Blue and Julia Hart, as well as Jamie Hayter and Queen Aminata were all set to take part, but that’s not exactly what played out.

Before the tournament began, Penelope Ford revealed she had suffered an injury that would put her out of action indefinitely. Megan Bayne, however, drafted in a replacement as she revealed she would team with the Death Rider’s Marina Shafir.

But now, three months later, Ford is ready to get back in the ring.

Penelope Ford Back In Action For AEW

On January 14th, AEW held a live Dynamite Maximum Carnage show that saw MJF retain the AEW Men’s World Championship against Dynamite Diamond ring winner Bandido. The AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions were on the losing end of things as Nightingale and Cameron teamed with AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander to face the Triangle of Madness.

After Dynamite ended, the company taped Collision to air on January 17th, and that show saw Penelope Ford back in action for the first time in three months, teaming with Megan Bayne to take on Viva Van and Danielle Kamela – former WWE star Vanessa Borne.
