Michael Cole Announces Sad Injury To Top WWE Star
It was left to Michael Cole to reveal that a major WWE star has been forced out of the ring due to injury.
On the January 26th edition of Raw, Rey Mysterio looked to get some measure of revenge on The Vision as he went one-on-one with Austin Theory. During the bout, Theory and Mysterio battled outside the ring with Mysterio hitting a hurricanrana, and things seemed to go very wrong.
Mysterio clutched his shoulder with the referee throwing up the ‘X’ sign to indicate a real injury. The Vision interfered and laid out both Penta and Dragon Lee, while Theory was able to hit a Stomp on Mysterio to quickly end the match and pick up the victory.
Despite that concern, Rey Mysterio made it to the Royal Rumble, where he was the fourth entrant in the men’s match. The WWE Hall of Famer couldn’t even last three minutes, however, as he was quickly dispatched by Oba Femi.
Rey Mysterio Injury Revealed By Michael Cole
Now, on the February 2nd edition of Raw, Michael Cole announced that Rey Mysterio suffered an injury during the Royal Rumble. It’s not known exactly what the nature of the injury is or how it happened. There is a chance that Mysterio needs time to recover from the injury on Raw, and the Rumble story given by Michael Cole is a cover.
Rey Mysterio was forced to miss WrestleMania 41 due to injury; he’ll be hoping the same thing doesn’t happen in 2026.
