Matt Riddle Removed From Upcoming WWE Live Events

Matt Riddle

Fans looking to see Matt Riddle live this weekend are out of luck.

On the December 5th, 2022 edition of Monday Night RAW, Matt Riddle wrestled in the opening match alongside Kevin Owens. The two of them tried and failed to win the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships from the Usos and were also attacked after the match ended.

Sikoa went after Riddle and hit him with a Samoan/Asiatic Spike and a running corner hip attack, both of which were tributes to his late uncle Eddie ‘Umaga’ Fatu. Sikoa used a steel chair when hitting the hip attack which caused extra damage to Riddle’s head and neck, which in turn led to EMT’s putting a neck brace on Riddle and helping him to the back.

According to a report by PWInsider, WWE pulled Matt Riddle from all live events scheduled for this weekend following this attack. No explanation was given, though based on similar situations from the past, this may have been done because of a real injury or because of a personal matter.

Either way, Matt Riddle won’t be wrestling this weekend. Meanwhile, the Usos are scheduled to appear on the next episode of SmackDown to defend their tag titles against the team of Sheamus and Butch.
