Veteran Wrestler Recalls Beautiful John Cena Non-WWE Moment
John Cena’s kindness outside of the ring been praised by a future Hall of Famer.
The 2025 WWE retirement tour of John Cena was all about giving back to a business that he loves, according to Cena.
In his final WWE match on December 13th against Gunther, John Cena gave back by tapping out to Gunther in the dreaded Sleeper Hold, which is a way to put over Gunther in a big way since Cena said “Never Give Up” for decades.
Earlier that same month, former WWE Women’s Champion Bayley’s Lodestone women’s wrestling camp took place at Flatbacks wrestling school in Orlando, which is owned by WWE’s Shawn Spears and Tyler Breeze.
Bayley revealed that one week before his final WWE match, John Cena showed up to watch Bayley and friends for about eight hours.
While speaking to the Toronto Sun, Bayley talked about Cena not only showing up to meet the women at the wrestling camp, but he was there to give them feedback, too.
“I have the privilege of being around Cena at shows and being able to pick his brain. He’s always open, but you don’t want to bother him as much. Being able to have him there for eight hours — all he had to do was walk in and say, ‘You can’t see me,’ and leave, and the girls would’ve lost their mind.
The fact that he was there, watched them wrestle, gave them feedback one-on-one in the ring. What I learned is the most valuable thing is to just give someone your time. That’s the biggest thing you can give anybody in life.
Whether you’re helping them about wrestling or going out to have coffee, the best thing you can give somebody is our time. That is what Cena really showed me. I don’t have to have all the answers about how to get these women where they want to be, but if I can give them my time and effort, that’s going to mean just as much if not more.”
John Cena’s Appearance Brought Wrestlers To Tears
One of the wrestlers at Bayley’s Lodestone camp was Dani Mo, who spoke recently about how there were women in tears when they saw Cena because they idolized him and looked up to him so much.
Bayley provided some more insight into some of the women who were crying at Cena’s appearance.
“I’m going to call out the person who was crying right away. Literally, you could hear a pindrop when he walked in. He walked in right behind me and they had no idea.
They were all talking, laughing, and you could hear them from the outside. As soon as he walked in, ‘Hey guys, how y’all feeling?’ They turned around and it was dead silent. Safire Reed turned around, bawling her eyes out.
I’m calling her out because she makes fun of me all the time. It was a beautiful moment and a highlight of my year.”
