LA Knight has provided some insight into what it has been like being Bray Wyatt’s first feud since Wyatt returned to WWE.

When Bray Wyatt made his highly-anticipated WWE return at Extreme Rules last October, it came after he was surprisingly released by WWE on July 31st, 2021.

Upon his return, Wyatt was immediately put into the role of a babyface even though much of his first run in WWE was as a heel character. It also meant that Wyatt needed a heel to feud with, so that led to LA Knight confronting Wyatt in a backstage segment and they were off and running.

After Wyatt and Knight’s first interaction, there were mysterious backstage attacks on Knight with Wyatt claiming that it wasn’t him that did it. Knight didn’t believe it. Knight also claimed that Uncle Howdy was actually Wyatt, but then Howdy appeared in the entranceway while Wyatt was in the ring. Uncle Howdy even dropped Wyatt with a Sister Abigail neckbreaker in front of Knight too.

At Saturday’s Royal Rumble event in San Antonio, Wyatt will have his first televised match in over a year and a half against Knight in a Mountain Dew (gotta mention the sponsor) Pitch Black Match.

In an interview with Chris Van Vliet on YouTube, LA Knight spoke about being Wyatt’s first major feud since Bray returned to WWE.

“Well, for sure. Because look, here’s this big anticipated return. Everybody’s like, oh well Bray Wyatt is coming back, ain’t that’s special? And for me. I’m looking at LA Knight’s here, and people were worried about Bray Wyatt. That’s fine. That’s cool. I get that. But then he walks in on my territory. If you remember the very first interaction, I didn’t go talk to him. I didn’t go look for him. He came looking for me.”

“So I don’t know, in a sense, it’s like, okay, well, people have this big grandiose idea of him, they think he’s amazing. And he’s this and he’s that, whatever he is. I’m just thinking he ain’t LA Knight. So at that point, it’s like, alright, well, I’m gonna stand here across the ring from this guy, and I’m gonna look him in the eyes, and I’m gonna be way, way bigger than him.”

“And I ain’t talking physically, we’re talking figuratively in the sense that I’m going to be to a level that if he’s going to walk into my arena, I’m gonna make sure I’m the one that people remember. I want to make sure that I’m the one that people think about, I’m going to make sure that I’m the one that shines above and beyond as bright as I can.”

In the same interview, LA Knight also talked about his Raw XXX moment with The Undertaker and Wyatt. It left Knight down on the mat, but at least he got to experience working with The Undertaker for the first time in his career
