Kota Ibushi Officially Signs With AEW

Kota Ibushi

Kota Ibushi was in action on AEW Dynamite and now Tony Khan has officially unveiled him as a member of the roster.

Kota Ibushi first appeared in AEW at Blood and Guts in July 2023 when he made The Elite golden as they triumphed over The Blackpool Combat Club. Ibushi was on the card at All In and WrestleDream as well but found himself on the losing side both times to Bullet Club Gold & Konosuke Takeshita and The Don Callis Family respectively.

On the November 15 edition of AEW Dynamite, Kota Ibushi was back in action as he teamed with Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, and Paul Wight to take on Callis’ crew once again, this time in a Like A Dragon Gaiden Street Fight. Kenny Omega won the match for his team and after the show, AEW boss Tony Khan announced Kota Ibushi as All Elite on social media, complete with the requisite graphic.

Wait…Hasn’t Kota Ibushi Been Signed With AEW For A While?

Kota Ibushi said after Blood and Guts that he had signed a contract with AEW, suggesting he has officially been a part of the company since July.

Ibushi himself seemed a tad confused on social media as he responded to the post by writing “Oh why now!? Lol” (translation by Google).

The Golden Star is not currently scheduled to be a part of the Full Gear pay-per-view but his Dynamite partners Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega will be as The Golden Jets take on The Young Bucks. Tony Khan has confirmed that another major star will sign their AEW contract at that show.
