Kevin Owens has some big news for WWE fans.

The Prizefighter has not been seen in action since the 2025 Elimination Chamber premium live event, where he defeated Sami Zayn in an Unsanctioned Match. Randy Orton attacked Owens after the clash, and a bout was scheduled to take place between the two stars at WrestleMania 41.

However, Kevin Owens’ neck injury scuppered those plans. Orton ended up squashing Joe Hendry at The Show of Shows instead. As for Owens, he underwent surgery on July 18, 2025, and is yet to make his in-ring return.

Kevin Owens makes a blockbuster WWE announcement

Amid his hiatus, Owens took to X to share some personal updates on what he has been up to during the past year or so. He then made a big announcement regarding a return after being asked by WWE.

It is about the sports entertainment juggernaut’s summer tour to Canada this year. Check out his full statement below:

Hello, my name is Kevin Owens. You may know me from several wrestling matches I have had, you know, in the last 26 years or so. Not so much in the last year, I haven’t wrestled since I had a neck surgery. Anyway, since then, I have not been doing much. A lot of walking around aimlessly. But today, I have a purpose. I do, because WWE is excited to announce, so excited to announce what I’m about to talk about, that they asked me to announce it, that WWE is coming back to Canada in August.

Thursday, August 20th, London, Ontario, at the Canada Life Place. I have notes, I didn’t remember the name of the arena. That’s a Thursday Night for the Summer Tour Live Event. Very exciting. The next night, Friday, August 21st, in Toronto, SmackDown. Friday Night SmackDown, that’s going to be big, Scotiabank Arena. Always a great time in Toronto. And then there’s two nights when nothing happens. But then, Monday, August 24th, it’s RAW in Ottawa, at the Canadian Tire Centre. I didn’t even have to look at my notes for that one…So those shows are pretty exciting, big shows coming up.

Tickets are on sale. Friday, May 8th, at 10:00 a.m. on Ticketmaster.ca. There’s a pre-sale on Thursday, May 7th, at 10:00 a.m. That’s my birthday, by the way. It also marks the 26th anniversary of my very first wrestling match. So, you go to WWE.com/events, you will get the information, figure out the pre-sale, and you can buy tickets on my birthday! Think of it as a birthday present from me to you, even though it’s my birthday, and also, I won’t be paying for the tickets, but you know, in spirit. It’s a nice gesture, and a nice way to think about it. So, go buy the tickets, go to the shows, and have a blast, and I really miss you guys. And I mean that 100%. Take care.

Kevin Owens didn’t reveal if he will be a part of the shows in Canada. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the former Universal Champion in WWE.
