Kenny Omega poses in ring

Kenny Omega could soon be taking an extended period of absence as a new report suggests that the former AEW Champion requires surgery on his shoulder.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider, has reported that Kenny Omega may need surgery to fix a long-standing shoulder problem. Johnson noted that more clarity is expected in the coming weeks.

This follows a report by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio which said that Omega would be evaluated at the November 17th episode of AEW Dynamite. this will determine whether the ‘Cleaner’ will need to take time away from the ring. He went on to say that Omega was going to take time off at some point but wanted to finish the storyline with ‘Hangman’ Adam Page first.

A separate report from Johnson revealed that Malakai Black and Eddie Kingston sustained injuries at Full Gear which left them unable to attend the ‘Big Event’ convention in New York City. Since that report, Kingston has taken to Twitter to provide an update, confirming that he will not miss any time at work.

Shoulders are fine. We’ll be at any @newwrestling1on the 20th and we’ll miss no time at work.”
