Kenny Omega Reveals Respect For Former WWE Champion

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega has revealed his respect for John Cena.

The Canadian star has enjoyed a storied 23-year career to date that has seen success around the globe including his current five-year stint in AEW that has seen him lift multiple titles including the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.

‘The Cleaner’ has faced many legendary names but has never battled Cena in the squared circle. Despite never having met the Hall Of Fame bound Superstar, Omega recently admitted his admiration for ‘The Doctor of Thugonomics’ and highlighted his unselfish nature as a key point of respect.

Omega also waxed lyrical about Cena’s famed charity work during a recent live stream on Twitch, declaring the 16-time WWE Champion as an ideal example of what you would look for as a face of the industry:

“No, I have not [met Cena], but I think he’s great. Great professional wrestler. He’s done an incredible amount for the business, I don’t think anyone will be able to match anytime soon.

The reason why is because Cena wasn’t doing anything for the sake of an accomplishment or trophy or recognition. People went out of their way after the fact to say, ‘look at all this stuff John is doing in his off time.’

Maybe he even laughs at it himself, but for the amount of effort he has put in to make people’s lives better, whether it be Make A Wish, fans at the arenas, or autograph signings, it’s a great example for what the face of a company should be or for the face of the industry. I’m a very big proponent of John Cena. I think he’s incredible.”
