Kenny Omega In Touching Reunion With Kota Ibushi

Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega has left his troubles at work behind him as he seeks solace with an old friend in Japan.

Kenny Omega first partnered with Kota Ibushi back in 2009 as part of DDT Pro Wrestling in Japan. For five years the team known as the Golden Lovers captured the KO-D Tag Team Championship as well as holding the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Title in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

The pair split when Omega pursued his career in NJPW as part of Bullet Club where he became a household name. As the famed faction began to fall apart in 2018, Kenny Omega was reunited with his old partner in emotional scenes.

Omega went on to capture the IWGP World Championship in June of the same year but the Golden Lovers reunion was cut short as Omega pursued his opportunity with AEW at the beginning of 2019.

Now with Kenny Omega suspended from work due to the well-publicised carnage that came after the All Out pay-per-view, he has been back in Tokyo, Japan, and has found comfort with an old friend once again.

Kota Ibushi has taken to social media to share photos of him and Omega sharing some cake and playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, with the suspended Michael Nakazawa also present.

Kota Ibushi has not competed since October 2021 and recently was forced into a pay cut after going public with his issues with NJPW management.
