John Cena’s Major Announcement At Backlash Will “Shock The Very Foundation Of WWE”
The former 17-time WWE Champion, John Cena hyped up his upcoming massive announcement at the Backlash PLE this Saturday. The Leader of Cenation believes that it will shock the company’s foundation.
Following his retirement run throughout the last year, John Cena hung up his boots after surprisingly tapping out in his last match against Gunther at SNME in December. While fans already started to miss him a few months after his retirement, Cena showed up at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas as the host of the show. After Mania, fans were wondering when Cena would be seen next on TV.
It was recently announced that the 17-time WWE Champion will be appearing at the Backlash PLE this Saturday. Through a recent social media post, Cena announced his appearance at Backlash with the following statement, teasing a history-making news:
It’s official! I’m headed to #WWEBacklash ! After months of planning and effort, I am SO excited to break some history-making news! I can’t promise it’ll be perfect but I can promise it will change the WWE experience for Superstars and fans! C U Live Saturday in Tampa or at home on the @espn app!”
John Cena says his Backlash 2026 announcement will shock WWE’s foundation
Taking to the X social media platform, John Cena shared a video from outside the Benchmark arena in Tampa, Florida, where Backlash 2026 will be held. In the video, Cena stated that his major announcement this weekend will shock the very foundation of WWE, from fans to the Superstars:
WWE Universe, hey, John Cena here, standing in Thunder Alley outside of Benchmark International Arena in Tampa Bay. In just a few days, I have a major announcement inside this building that is going to shock the very foundation of WWE. From its fans, to its Superstars, from Champions, down to its rookies.
Cena also thanked Tampa and the WWE for allowing him to make the announcement while urging the fans to watch Backlash this Saturday:
I am so grateful Tampa is allowing me the place to make this announcement. Thank you, WWE, see you live on ESPN in the [United] States and Netflix around the world. But don’t miss Backlash, I am so excited, and I will see you there.”
