Jacob Fatu isn’t letting the misinterpretation of his words slide.

The Samoan Werewolf is heading to WrestleMania 42 to face Drew McIntyre in an unsanctioned match. The two men have been going at each other’s throats relentlessly for quite some time, and fell off a building mid-brawl two weeks ago on SmackDown. Amidst all this, Fatu had said something about his rivalry with McIntyre that fans didn’t fully understand. However, the former United States Champion didn’t hesitate to give the WWE Universe some much-needed clarity.

Jacob Fatu Talks About the Real Stakes Involved in His WWE Match

The Samoan Werewolf recently made an appearance on The Babyfaces Podcast. There, he cleared that he had mentioned that WWE could release him if things went wrong in his feud with Drew McIntyre. Adding more clarity, Fatu said that there is no ifs and buts about it, and that the Stamford-based promotion could actually part ways with him.

Jacob Fatu said that he knows the cost of losing big matches in the company, and he can’t afford to lose to McIntyre. He said that this will result in him losing his livelihood and that his family depends on it.

And when I was talking, and I said that, you know — no, I didn’t mean if — I didn’t mean I would get released if me and Drew go too far. No, I was saying I will get released, okay? Because I don’t play with it. I don’t play this. He’s taking food off my family’s table.”

Interestingly, by making his fight with Drew McIntyre unsanctioned, Nick Aldis has now taken almost all worries away from the mind of Jacob Fatu. The Samoan Werewolf wants vengeance against The Scottish Psychopath, as he believes that he was the man who put him on the shelf back in October 2025.

Fatu sees that attack as McIntyre trying to end his career and leave his family vulnerable. Although he has already cost the 40-year-old his Undisputed Championship just weeks ahead of WrestleMania 42, he isn’t done punishing McIntyre for his actions. It would be interesting to see which of these men manages to exit Las Vegas with their hand held high.
