Injured AEW Star Close To Return

AEW logo over Andrade

It would seem one AEW star is set to get back to in-ring action within the next month.

The announcement of AEW Collision had long been expected, with initial reports that there is set to be a “hard roster split” between the Saturday night event and Dynamite.

Plenty of stars were on the initial announcement, including the likes of Miro, Samoa Joe, Thunder Rosa, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Andrade El Idolo. For Andrade, this would mark a return to the company having been away to recover from a torn pec in late November, although he had also been sent home following a backstage altercation with Sammy Guevara.

In a new report, Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer has said that Andrade El Idolo will be fit in time for the inaugural episode of Collision, and will actually be making his in-ring return in Mexico a couple of days prior.

Andrade will be back in time because Andrade booked…Andrade is actually working a show in Mexico two days before, which I believe is going to be the first match back. So he should be back on that show and ready to go after his surgery to repair a torn pec.

Although the reception online to the announcement of AEW Collision was seemingly positive, there have since been reports that the live event has suffered from really bad ticket sales.
