Huge SummerSlam Title Match Could Be Off

SummerSlam

A huge WrestleMania rematch set for SummerSlam appears to be in jeopardy.

The SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks could be off.

A new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider has suggested that Sasha Banks may have been pulled from SummerSlam entirely. The knock on effect being that her highly anticipated WrestleMania rematch against Bianca Belair could be off.

The report says that Banks isn’t at today’s SmackDown taping in Phoenix, Arizona, as speculation mounts that she won’t be appearing at the summer spectacular tomorrow.

The report comes after Banks and Belair both missed live events last weekend due to “unforeseen circumstances.” However, earlier this week it appeared that the match was set to take place as scheduled, as it was reported that both women had been cleared. The report added that the match would go ahead “barring something unseen” happening.

After Sasha Banks returned to WWE on July 30th, The Boss immediately declared her intention to face Belair.

Prior to disappearing from WWE television, Banks lost her Women’s Championship to Belair at WrestleMania 37.

After initially aligning with her rival, Banks attacked the champion upon her return. The following week, Banks explained that she was coming back to take out Belair and regain her SmackDown Women’s Title.
