Former WWE NXT Star To Make AEW Debut Against Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson

A former WWE star who plied their trade on the NXT brand is set to make their AEW debut on the 1st of February edition of Dynamite.

Bryan Danielson is on a mission to face MJF in the main event of Revolution for the AEW World Championship. Danielson has already set the stipulation of a one-hour Iron Man match for himself and the champion but things with MJF are never that easy.

The Salt of the Earth has set Bryan Danielson the task of earning the number one contender-ship for his title and he will do so if he can win every match up to and including on the 8th of February.

The American Dragon has already defeated Konosuke Takeshita and Bandido on his quest and on the 25th of January edition of Dynamite he also defeated ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champion Brian Cage. Cage and MJF attacked Danielson after the match but Takeshita – who has had cross words with the AEW Champion in recent weeks – made the save.

Later in the show, MJF showed a video package of Danielson’s next opponent, hand-picked by him – former NXT star Timothy Thatcher. Thatcher was a part of the black and gold brand between April 2020 and August 2021. Thatcher’s time in the company is most memorable for his two Fight Pit matches against Matt Riddle and Tommaso Ciampa – matches that Thatcher won.

Since leaving WWE, Thatcher has been part of Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan where he has held the GHC Tag Team Championship with Hideki Suzuki.
