Expiring WWE Contract Leaves Plans In Serious Doubt
Contracts are causing havoc with WWE creative.
After being freed from Retribution, Dijak was given a new lease of life upon returning to NXT in late 2022. Since moving back to WWE’s third brand, the star has built up a cult following with multiple impressive in-ring appearances, tangling with many of the company’s up-and-coming stars.
However, plans for a major feud are currently on ice.
According to a new report from Corey Brennan via Fightful Select, Dijak had been penciled in for a feud with Trick Williams in the coming months, but his contract status means those plans are up in the air. Dijak’s deal is set to expire in June.
Meanwhile, the report notes that Trick Williams will be staying with NXT following the upcoming Draft, and presented as the “focal point” of programming going forward.
Several WWE Contracts Coming To An End
Dijak is far from the only WWE star on the verge of becoming a free agent, with Drew McIntyre yet to agree a new contract. Despite the stalemate, McIntyre is expected to remain with the company, but as things stand he’ll be a free agent come the end of May.
Meanwhile, Natalya, Seth Rollins, and Becky Lynch all have contracts expiring in the coming months.
