The end of a former WWE star’s career might be coming to an end in 2026 despite being aged just 31.

On November 8th 2025, Newell and Alize were set to compete for a second time against Anna Jay and Tay Melo, but the match never made it to the ring. Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize reportedly refused to lose for a second week in a row and left the taping. Reports later suggested that Newell and Alize were unhappy at having another three-minute match, rather than being upset over losing.

They were quickly replaced by Hyan and Maya World, who did what was asked of them. They made such an impression that they have since both been signed by Tony Khan, making it a real “what might have been” situation for Newell and Alize.

But it seems Nixon Newell won’t be sticking around the wrestling world much longer.

Ex-WWE Star Might Be Hanging Up Her Boots In 2026

Speaking on Casual Conversations with The Classic, Newell claimed that she thought when she was released by WWE that she’d be finishing up her in-ring career at some point in 2026:

I said back in 2024, when I was released, I don’t see myself going past two years. Last year went real quick, so in my mind right now, if nothing happens, this is my last year because I have other things that I’m super passionate about that I want to focus on.

It’s not that I don’t like wrestling anymore. I just prefer being behind the scenes and teaching people stuff or being a producer. I enjoy doing that way more than being an in-ring competitor.
