Drew McIntyre Takes Shot At CM Punk AEW’s Past
Drew McIntyre will never miss the chance to stick the knife into CM Punk when he can and now he’s referenced his AEW past after SmackDown.
Drew McIntyre is a world class hater and there is no one he hates more than CM Punk. For most of 2024, McIntyre and Punk made each other’s life hell but as they move on to other things at WrestleMania 41, McIntyre has not forgotten about his old enemy.
On SmackDown in London, Drew McIntyre picked up a huge win as he defeated Randy Orton after confronting Orton and WWE Champion Cody Rhodes later in the night. However, after that, things took a turn for the worse as he came across Damian Priest who put McIntyre through a car windshield with his South of Heaven chokeslam.
And wouldn’t you know it, it was real glass.
Drew McIntyre Comes Off Worse With Real Glass
Taking to social media, Drew McIntyre seemed to poke fun at the line that brought about the end of CM Punk’s AEW career as he revealed real glass went in his eye:
That was real glass…It got in my eye.

At AEW All In London, Jack Perry famously said into the camera “real glass, go cry me a river” before he was suplexed through a car windshield. This was a reference to a disagreement with CM Punk weeks before when Perry wanted to use real glass in a segment but Punk nixed that idea.
After Perry’s comment, he was confronted physically by Punk backstage in a moment that led to CM Punk being fired by AEW.
