Drew McIntyre Issues Statement After Shocking WWE Attack

Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre offered up an explanation of sorts regarding his attack at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

One of the big matches at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in Montreal was supposed to be a grudge match between former WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Jacob Fatu.

The match never actually took place because Fatu attacked Rhodes before the match, and the two men went brawling around the Bell Centre for the next 15 minutes or so. While WWE Officials tried to control the two men, they had little success.

As the brawling continued, the Undisputed WWE Champion Drew McIntyre showed up to attack both men. As Rhodes and Fatu stood on a platform above a table, McIntyre showed up to throw Fatu through a table. McIntyre also hit a low blow on Cody, too. McIntyre picked up Cody on a platform and gave him a Powerbomb through a table.

Thanks to McIntyre, the brawling between Rhodes and Fatu stopped since both men were put through tables.

In a social media post, McIntyre claimed he was just doing everyone a favor.

Drew McIntyre Defending WWE Title At Royal Rumble

Later at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Sami Zayn won a Fatal 4-Way match over Damian Priest, Trick Williams, and Randy Orton. Zayn got the pin after hitting a Helluva Kick on Priest while Orton was a bit too slow to make the save.

After the match, Sami Zayn celebrated the win as fans sang along to his theme song. They showed Zayn’s wife and son in the crowd. Drew McIntyre went after Zayn in the ring, but Zayn was ready for it. Zayn sent Drew over the top of the floor. Zayn kept on celebrating while he stared at McIntyre to end the show.

The reward for Zayn is a WWE Championship match against McIntyre at the Royal Rumble.

Here’s the updated lineup for the WWE Royal Rumble on January 31st.
