Dominik Mysterio Would Love To Face Rey Mysterio Outside Of WWE

Dominik Mysterio is dreaming big.

At AAA Triplemania XXXIII, Dominik Mysterio is set to challenge for the Mega Championship for the first time. The Intercontinental Champion will do battle with El Hijo del Vikingo in a four-way match also featuring Dragon Lee and El Grande Americano.

Ahead of the event, Mysterio has used his success to take a jab at his father, who never won the championship.

During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Dominik wasted little time in claiming that he’s already surpassed Rey.

“He’s never been in the title picture when it comes to AAA, here I am in my first appearance with AAA, I’m going for the Mega Championship.”

Later in the interview, he said he’d love to face Rey in AAA if he wins the Mega Championship.

“It would be a humongous deal. I don’t see why not. If I become the Mega Champion for AAA, I don’t see why my father, the leprechaun, shouldn’t be coming down to me and begging for a title shot.

He’s been hurt with his injury since WrestleMania. If he wants to come back and I’m the Mega Champion and the Intercontinental Champion as well, he has never fought for that title when it comes to the Mega Championship for AAA.

So, if I get my hands on it, I’m sure he’s going to want to put his name in the history books but he’s got to go through me, the greatest Mysterio of all time.”

Dominik Mysterio To Become The Face Of AAA

In recent weeks it’s been reported that Dominik Mysterio is in pole position to win the Mega Championship at Triplemania. Not only that, there’s talk of him becoming the face of the entire brand.

According to the report, the idea of Mysterio wearing the Mega Championship on WWE and AAA television is “appealing to both sides.”

A different report claimed that WWE’s long-term goal for AAA is to turn it into a feeder promotion for NXT.
