Is Dominik Mysterio Really Related To Eddie Guerrero? His Daughter Responds

Dominik Mysterio

Late WWE star Eddie Guerrero’s daughter speaks on Dominik Mysterio.

Dominik and Eddie were involved in a highly personal on-screen storyline in 2005, when Dominik was just eight years old. During the angle, Guerrero claimed that Dominik was his biological son, not Rey Mysterio’s.

He alleged that he had given Dominik to Rey and his wife, Angie Mysterio, because they were having trouble starting a family. That angle became one of WWE’s most controversial storylines and continues to be referenced to this day.

WWE has revisited the storyline in different ways over the years, most recently through Dominik Mysterio’s character, where he has implied that he identifies more with Eddie Guerrero and has distanced himself from Rey Mysterio.

Dominik has repeatedly referred to Rey as a “deadbeat dad” on TV and is often seen paying homage to Eddie Guerrero, whom he calls his real father.

Eddie Guerrero’s Daughter Says Dominik Mysterio Is “Amazing”

Eddie Guerrero’s daughter, Sherilyn Guerrero, recently spoke about the topic in an interview with MuscleManMalcolm on Muscle Memory at Anime Fest Wrestle Verse in Houston.

When asked whether Dominik Mysterio is actually her brother, Sherilyn replied that although Dominik is not related to her by blood, she very much considers him her brother and a member of her family.

Blood and water don’t count in anything. It’s what we make it. But he’s great. I can’t wait to team up with him, cause some trouble later, and he’s amazing. I don’t uh I wouldn’t want anyone else doing what he’s doing because better keep it in the family, you know? (From 3:48)

Dominik Mysterio recently returned from a shoulder injury following the Royal Rumble. He is currently a double champion, holding both the WWE Intercontinental Championship and the AAA Mega Championship.

He is officially scheduled to return to in-ring competition on the February 16 edition of Monday Night Raw, where he will face Gunther and Je’Von Evans in a Triple Threat match for a spot in the Men’s Elimination Chamber.

Additionally, on March 14, 2026, Mysterio is set to put his AAA Mega Championship on the line against El Hijo del Vikingo in the main event of AAA Rey de Reyes, promoted by AAA.
