What Cody Rhodes Whispered In John Cena’s Ear After WWE Match Revealed

Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena was the storyline that enabled The Champ to become the record-breaking 17-time World Champion, but ensured The American Nightmare exited 2025 as the Undisputed WWE Champion. 

Cena dethroned Rhodes at WrestleMania for the Undisputed WWE Championship. He worked as champion for months, until he faced the former champion at SummerSlam once again.

At The Biggest Party of the Summer, Rhodes dethroned Never Seen 17. What followed after that was a moment of pure emotion where Cody Rhodes was seen in tears as he held on to John Cena.

Cody Rhodes apologized to John Cena after the WWE match

Netflix recently released WWE Unreal season 2.

In episode 5, The Pop, WWe showed the SummerSlam match and backstage footage of it.

Cody Rhodes revealed what he said to John Cena after the match was done. He explained learning everything he could from Cena, and how he felt.

I drove John around for years. Learned everything I could from him. He didn’t know I was learning from him. That’s why I told him in the ring. I told him, “Sorry it took me so long.”

Currently, John Cena is signed with WWE through an ambassador’s contract.
