Cody Rhodes was all in on ‘Street Fighter.’

At Clash in Paris, Roman Reigns was brutally attacked by The Vision and taken out of action. In reality, Reigns was written out so that he could work on filming for the new ‘Street Fighter’ movie, which is due in 2026.

Roman Reigns finally returned on the September 29 episode of Raw to help The Usos and take out Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker.

Reigns wasn’t the only star to take time off for ‘Street Fighter,’ with Cody Rhodes absent between August 8 and September 12. In the new live-action movie, Rhodes is set to play Guile, and Reigns will play Akuma.

In a new interview on The Pat McAfee Show, Rhodes reflected on his time filming the project and revealed that he was adamant he performed his own stunts.

“The physicality part of Guile was a pretty easy pick up. A bit of a spoiler for what I hope is going to be a monster movie, Guile does a few things — in terms of the video games, you know Guile is going to do a Sonic Boom, you know he’s going to do the Flash Kick.

I was adamant that anything that’s a stunt, I want to do it. If that requires me being on these wires, I wanna do it. If you put another guy over here in the corner who I know is going to do the shot after, I still want a shot at it.

His name is JV, his stunt squad is putting together these fights because it’s Street Fighter, you need fights, it’s a fighting tournament. Unbelievable, very easy for me to jump right into it and he had a great team around me to let me get one go at a couple of things that I hope I get to see in the movie.”

Cody Rhodes Tips WWE Boom To Continue

During the same interview, Cody Rhodes said it will continue to be “onwards and upwards” for WWE after the company kicked off its relationship with ESPN. He suggested that throughout history, pro wrestling has gone through peaks and troughs, but that’s now a thing of the past.

Rhodes added that WWE’s success is down to a tremendously talented roster and the work of “super genius” Nick Khan behind the scenes.

Back in the ring, Rhodes will team with Randy Orton to face Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed on the October 3 episode of SmackDown.
