Cody Rhodes Claims Wife’s WWE Return Would Destroy His Character

Cody Rhodes has revealed why his wife did not return to WWE.

The American Nightmare and his wife, Brandi, left the Stamford-based company together in 2016. After a run on the independent circuit, they played a major role in establishing AEW.

After spending three years in Tony Khan’s promotion, the couple left. While Cody returned to WWE to become the company’s top babyface, his wife did not.

Cody Rhodes Thinks Brandi’s WWE Return Would Turn Him Heel

In an interview with The Breakfast Club, Cody Rhodes explained why his wife did not return to the Stamford-based company alongside him. He noted that people assumed she would join him, but that was not the case.

The Undisputed WWE Champion then explained why Brandi’s comeback would have hurt his babyface character and turned him into a heel.

I don’t know how I’m a babyface in the first place. Bleach blonde hair, wears suits, the American flag on the side of my neck. I don’t know why I haven’t gone the other way, why I’m not a vicious heel. But I can tell you that when you add in this beautiful woman to that, it’s less likely that the grown men (who) come to those shows want to cheer for you now.
