What WWE Hall Of Famer Told Cody Rhodes After Intense SmackDown Promo

Cody Rhodes WWE

Cody Rhodes delivered a fiery promo on WWE SmackDown that got a lot of praise from a legendary wrestler.

The Men’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series is the most star-studded WarGames match in company history.

On the babyface side, the World Champion CM Punk will team with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and Roman Reigns. The heel team is led by Paul Heyman, guiding a team of Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre, and Brock Lesnar.

It’s a match full of current and former WWE World Champions, along with men who have the potential to be main event stars in the future.

Cody Rhodes had a rough night to start WWE SmackDown in Denver when Drew McIntyre beat him up on his bus.

Later in the show, Bronson Reed faced Carmelo Hayes in a Last Time Is Now Tournament first-round match. Reed hit a clothesline to knock Melo out of the ring. Bron Breakker wanted to attack Melo without the referee seeing it, but The Usos showed up to stop that. The Usos went fighting into the crowd with Bron and Logan Paul. Reed sent Melo into the commentary table.

That’s when things took a turn for Reed. Heyman was arguing with the referee on the apron. Cody Rhodes showed up and sent Reed into the ring post. Cody followed up by giving Reed a Cross Rhodes on the floor. The referee counted out Reed, who was still on the floor. Reed got up at 9, but Reed wasn’t able to get into the ring. Carmelo Hayes won by countout.

Cody Rhodes did a fired-up promo on the SmackDown commentary table.

“Drew McIntyre, I said I was done with you, and now I don’t want to be done at all. And your friends, Bronson, you’re probably the best in that group, but you won’t figure it out until you’re looking up at the lights. Bron Breakker, where’s he at? Historically speaking, a Steiner is never better than a Rhodes. Logan Paul, get your drone up, do a flip, none of us care.

And Brock Lesnar…Brock Lesnar, don’t forget the last person who beat you here was me, and not once, but twice!

Mr. Heyman, look at me. If I learned anything from that WrestleMania photo, you’ve represented every one of those guys on screen. You know what I’ve discovered…is our relationship, you build them, and I’ll beat them. WarGames, the match beyond. It’s not just a match, it’s my damn birthright, and I’ll see you in San Diego!”

The fans absolutely loved it and cheered on the WWE Champion Rhodes as his music played.

“Best Promo Ever” – Bully Ray To Cody Rhodes

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley (aka Bully Ray) and co-host Dave LaGreca spoke about how effective Cody’s promo. Bully also revealed what he texted Cody after he saw it.

Dave LaGreca: “I love the fire from Cody. Very different than what we usually get from Cody Rhodes. That’s a t-shirt: ‘You build them and I’ll beat them’ when talking to Paul Heyman. And he kind of laid a little bit out for everybody, a little mission statement for everybody on top in WWE. I loved what I heard from Cody Rhodes on Friday night.”

Bully Ray: “Quality over quantity. 90 seconds to 2 minutes. That was the best Cody Rhodes promo I’ve ever heard. That’s what I’ve been talking about when it comes to Cody. That intensity, that passion, that fire. That worked. I watched that promo and it took me about 3 seconds to pick up my phone and text Cody: ‘Best promo ever.'”
