“CM Punk Wants To Get Back To Wrestling” Says Dax Harwood

CM Punk makes entrance

AEW stunned the wrestling world when Adam Cole announced that their planned London show would be taking place in the 90,000+ capacity Wembley Stadium and Dax Harwood thinks for a show of that size, CM Punk is exactly what is needed.

That event is named All In after the show produced by The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes that many see as the proof of concept that AEW could get off the ground and be a success.

With a whole lot of seats to fill fans have been guessing what huge matches could take place and Dax Harwood of FTR named his own dream match that would certainly have a lot of intrigue as he suggested FTR and CM Punk team up to face The Elite.

Punk of course hasn’t been seen in AEW since his backstage fight with The Elite at All Out in September 2022 and FTR’s own issues with The Young Bucks are well documented.

Speaking on his FTR podcast, Dax Harwood explained why he thinks the match is a good idea and why CM Punk is vital to taking AEW to the next level:

“I will say this the reason I’m fantasy booking that [CM Punk and FTR vs. The Elite] is because outside of Roman Reigns and you please correct me if I’m wrong, outside of Roman Reigns and maybe, this is not including like Brock Lesnar, or Logan Paul or whatever. But outside of Roman Reigns and maybe Cody Rhodes, the biggest name in professional wrestling right now is CM Punk. Right? Definitely the biggest name in AEW.

“And so if we want, if we want to take AEW to the next level, if we’re here to work for AEW, if we’re here to make professional wrestling better because of AEW, the way you do that is you take the biggest star that you have, and one of the biggest stars in the world, and you put them on the card, and you make money with them. Also, on top of saying that, I talk to Punk almost every day, and Punk misses wrestling, that’s your headline, Punk misses wrestling, and Punk wants to come back. And he wants to give back to the fans, he wants to get back to wrestling. So I’ll leave it at that.”

Some in AEW felt that any chance of Punk returning to the company could have been lost when he blasted both Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley on social media recently.
