Chris Jericho Teases Working With Kenny Omega Again In AEW
Chris Jericho wouldn’t mind if the Alpha and Omega fought each other once again in AEW.
Chris Jericho and Omega have faced each other five times in AEW, three times in 2019 and twice in 2020. Four of their matches were tag/multi-man matches and one was a singles match.
Of their five matches, Chris Jericho has won all but one of them, with his only loss coming in the Stadium Stampede match at Double or Nothing 2020.
Since then, the two wrestling Winnipeggers have stayed far apart. Part of that was due to the storylines presented in AEW and part of it was because Omega spent months sidelined with injuries, surgeries, and recovery.
But now that both men are back on AEW’s roster fulltime, Chris Jericho believes that the time to rekindle his feud with Omega is approaching.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Chris Jericho mentioned a big upcoming AEW show that will emanate from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Jericho promoted that event and then teased a possible Tokyo Dome rematch in both his and Omega’s hometown.
“I was just talking about a show we have coming up in Winnipeg, and the crux of AEW basically started from three guys in Winnipeg. Tokyo Dome; Jericho vs. Omega, that was basically brokered by Don Callis. Here we are, going back to Winnipeg, Jericho and Omega, there is a little bit of a legend between us, we have to be involved in some way.
We were thinking about how we were going to do this and we came up with something yesterday that was really exciting to me I was up all night thinking about it, how fun it might be and how cool it’s going to be.”
AEW comes to the Canada Life Centre on Wednesday, March 15th. Tickets can be purchased here.
