Severity Of Chelsea Green’s Injury Revealed; WWE In-Ring Return Update
Chelsea Green has had a lot of bad luck lately.
Chelsea Green lost the Women’s United States Championship to Giulia on the first SmackDown episode of 2026.
She then got squashed by WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill, effectively presenting her as a weak mid-carder who elevates the top stars – something her boss from the creative team, Michael Hayes, said was her job, on WWE: Unreal Season 2.
Things got worse for Green as she injured her ankle in a three-way bout to determine who would qualify for the Elimination Chamber Match with Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend.
Stratton landed the Prettiest Moonsault Ever on Chelsea and progressed to the Chamber, while Chelsea later found out backstage that her ankle had become “like an orange,” she revealed later on Takedown on SI.
To top it off, she then lost her AAA Mixed Tag Team Titles with Ethan Page in a scheduled match she couldn’t be part of due to her ankle injury. Page chose La Hiedra as a last-minute partner, and they lost the titles to Mr. Iguana and Lola Vice.
Despite all the downs, Green has regularly appeared on podcasts and even appeared on SmackDown in a wheelchair with a walking boot to support her leg.
Chelsea Green Injury Update
Speaking on The Ghosts of Hollywood, Chelsea Green revealed the severity of her injury.
My ankle, it’s broken. The inner ankle bone chipped and cracked. It’s very much broken. A lot of people are questioning that. I’m able to (put) weight there. I feel like we’re on a good trajectory to make a solid comeback.
Chelsea Green is on the road to recovery, but it remains to be seen whether she can make a comeback before WrestleMania 42.
