Carmelo Hayes has a big name WWE superstar name in mind as a potential future opponent for when he’s on the main roster.

For the past year and a half, Carmelo Hayes has been establishing himself as arguably the best superstar in NXT. The man simply known as “Melo” to some had lengthy runs as the NXT North American Champion that elevated that title by calling it the “A Championship” regularly.

In terms of match quality, Hayes shines as one of the best wrestlers in NXT. He has put on some incredible matches with the likes of Ricochet, Apollo Crews, Tyler Bate, JD McDonagh and many others.

At NXT Stand & Deliver on April 1st, Carmelo cemented himself as the leader of this era of NXT by defeating Bron Breakker to win the NXT Title in the first televised match they had together. While Hayes did tap out during the match, the referee never saw it and he never saw Melo’s buddy Trick Willaims get in some cheap shots too. Melo found a way to win.

In the pst Stand & Deliver world of NXT, Carmelo Hayes is now fully a babyface after being a heel for most of the 18 months. Meanwhile, Breakker is a heel for the first time.

During a Q&A on WWE’s Snapchat, Carmelo Hayes was asked about his dream opponent for a match at WrestleMania. Melo mentioned former WWE Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins as somebody he wants to face in the future.

“I’ve been on record saying this a bunch of times so I’m just going to stay consistent with it: Seth Rollins. I feel like he’s somebody that I would have good chemistry with in the ring.”

“On top of that, I see our careers as very much being parallel in the sense of he was the first NXT Champion and I’m the current NXT champion. I think that would be a good story to tell down the road.”

As for his immediate future, Carmelo Hayes will defend the NXT Championship against Grayson Waller on the Tuesday, April 25th Spring Breakin’ episode of NXT. Waller earned the title shot by winning a four-way match this past week on NXT television.
