Brie Bella Reveals Huge Scrapped WWE Plans
Despite being one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Brie Bella has yet to do something significant.
Brie returned to the Stamford promotion at the Royal Rumble in January 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She reunited with her twin, Nikki Bella, as they made their intention clear about winning the tag titles.
They even secured a title match at WrestleMania 42 in a 4-way scenario. However, Nikki got injured and was forced to undergo surgery, rendering her unable to compete.
She was replaced by Paige, who returned to the company after four years. Both Paige and Brie Bella emerged victorious at the Show of Shows, becoming the tag champions together for the first time.
Since then, they have successfully defended the titles thrice, once each on Raw, SmackDown, and at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Brie Bella Reveals WWE’s Scrapped Plans For Europe Tour
WWE recently completed a month-long European tour, where it also taped its first-ever live show in Italy.
Clash in Italy on May 31 featured five matches, but the Women’s Tag Team Championship was not one of them.
Brie Bella and Paige were featured in backstage segments on the May 29 and June 5 SmackDown episodes, where they were confronted by The Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Lainey Reid).
In fact, the June 5 appearance took a physical turn, as the potential challengers viciously attacked the champions, leaving them laid out.
While speaking on the latest episode of The Nikki & Brie Show, Brie expressed her disappointment at not having an in-ring segment during the European tour, claiming that she and Paige were excited to interact with the local audience.
But, you know, we obviously start off my trip in Barcelona for Friday Night SmackDown. I will tell you all, Paige and I were very sad not to wrestle in front of you in Spain or actually be out there. You know, we had a backstage, which was still really good. Fatal Influence, those are some naughty girls. But, you know, we’re going to have our, you know, we get them now. So we got a little taste of their medicine. They’re going to get right back. But I will say Paige and I were so sad not to be out in the crowds.
After their backstage segment with Fatal Influence, Brie Bella expected them to have a match on the subsequent SmackDown episode. However, she learnt that the plan had changed.
The 42-year-old even claimed she spoke to someone about at least cutting a promo in the ring, which was the original plan, but it did not come to fruition.
And then the Friday, the SmackDown after, Paige and I thought we had a match and then we didn’t. And we were so sad. We’re like, can we please walk out to the crowd and cut a promo and do all that, which actually we originally were supposed to be out in the crowd and do this thing out in the arena. And last minute it got switched. We were so bummed. I was like, how is it that I’m in Europe and I did not once walk out to any of those fabulous high-energy crowds?
Brie Bella had clearly envisioned leaving Europe with at least an in-ring promo in the bag, but it was not to be. For now, their feud with Fatal Influence will continue in the United States.
Brie had previously expressed her displeasure at WWE’s booking in the lead-up to WrestleMania as well.
