Bobby Lashley Announced For Andre The Giant Battle Royal

Bobby Lashley

It looked like Bobby Lashley and Bray Wyatt were on a collision course for WrestleMania 39 but with ever-increasing uncertainty over Wyatt’s status for the event, WWE’s announcement on SmackDown means it looks like the match is off.

Bray Wyatt made his intentions clear before Elimination Chamber that he had his sights set on the winner of the bout between Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar at that event. Lashley won by disqualification and it came to light that Lesnar apparently had been set to win but had refused the feud with Wyatt.

Wyatt has been off WWE television for several weeks now and missed previously advertised spots on some live events. There is little information regarding Wyatt’s status but it now looks clear that he won’t compete at WrestleMania 39.

On SmackDown in Las Vegas, it was announced that the Andre The Giant Battle Royal is returning and Bobby Lashley appears front and centre on the graphic for that match. The huge battle royal will take place on the SmackDown immediately before WrestleMania weekend as it has done for the past two years.

The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal – as it was then called – was inaugurated at WrestleMania 30 when it was won by Cesaro. Since then the bout has only had one other showing on the main WrestleMania card, in 2016 when it was won by Baron Corbin. Madcap Moss won the 2022 edition of the bout, last eliminating Finn Balor.
