Big Things Coming For WWE Star After Talks With The Rock
A top WWE star has dropped an interesting hint involving The Rock.
Ahead of Elimination Chamber, The Rock told Cody Rhodes that he wanted him to become “his” World Champion by selling his soul to The Final Boss. At this, Rock left the decision up to Rhodes, giving him until the event in Toronto to decide what happened next.
However, in a stunning twist, Rhodes told Rock to “go f*ck himself,” before he was assaulted by John Cena, at the behest of The Great One. The shocking attack cemented Cena’s heel turn while putting him firmly on the side of The Rock as he bids to win a record 17th World Championship.
But fans don’t think things will be stopping there.
During an appearance at Bad Blood, Rock held three fingers in the air after delivering a cutthroat gesture, before doing the same but with two fingers in the moments before Cena attacked Rhodes. This has led some fans to wonder whether another betrayal could be on the way.
Drew McIntyre Confirms Talks With The Rock
One star who has never hidden their backstage connection with The Rock is Drew McIntyre. The Scottish star has repeatedly stated that the veteran has had his back in the past, while it was The Rock who gave McIntyre a sword when he re-signed with the company in 2024.
In a new interview with Adam Glyn of Adam’s Apple, McIntyre revealed he also spoke with Rock at Elimination Chamber before promising that there’s something “pretty big” on the way.
“It all started [with] The Rock saying those positive words that you captured in 2018. Re-signing last year, knowing where the company was going to go, The Rock [gave me] that sword. He’s always been on my side. I got a chance to talk with him at Elimination Chamber and there’s a few things on the horizon, they’re going to be pretty big once it becomes…”
Drew McIntyre looks to be heading for a WrestleMania showdown with Damian Priest after the pair came to blows on SmackDown. On the March 7 edition of the show, McIntyre jumped Priest backstage before the former Judgment Day star got revenge later in the night.
Back in February, it was Priest who eliminated McIntyre from the men’s Royal Rumble match before also eliminating him from the Elimination Chamber match on March 1. On that occasion, McIntyre attacked Priest before leaving the ring, causing his elimination.
