Beloved Ex-WWE Star Will Inevitably Join AEW

A former WWE star who was once beloved by fans seems to be on a one-way journey to AEW.

Ring announcer Samantha Irvin left WWE in October 2024 after a popular run as one of the promotion’s most recognizable ring announcers. Since leaving, she has made clear that she was looking for something more than just ring announcing.

Irvin’s husband, AEW star Ricochet, has echoed that sentiment publicly, explaining that Irvin “wanted to be a character” rather than just the voice introducing matches.

And it seems she’ll get that chance one day.

Ex-WWE Stars Reuniting In AEW?

Speaking to Adrian Hernandez, Ricochet explained why he feels it’s invevitable that Samantha Irvin will end up joining him in AEW:

Any ideas about it finally happening? Yeah, I think so too—it’s inevitable. Wrestlers are always talking wrestling, always talking potential this, potential that. But yeah, nothing’s set in stone. Everything’s kind of in the air, but I think it will eventually happen. Maybe historic is the word.

Ricochet explained why he thinks Irvin could be the perfect manager for him in AEW and she has more to offer than WWE let her show:

She and I have chemistry together. I think whether it’s good or bad, we’ll be able to get reactions out of people. We’ve already proven we can get reactions out of people off of little to nothing. A heel Samantha on camera—she’s been an actress her whole life. She’s been in plays. So getting into a character is nothing new for her. It’s going to be like riding a bike.

I’m excited to see it, and excited for the world to see it too. Who knows if that’s going to be this year, next year, or whenever. But yeah, I’m just excited to create—especially with someone like her. Literally from the moment she wakes up, she’s thinking about something and wants to create something.
