WWE Hall Of Famer Thinks Austin Theory Should Beat John Cena At WrestleMania 39

Austin Theory John Cena

One famous figure in WWE has already made a bold statement about the John Cena/Austin Theory match scheduled for WrestleMania 39.

Earlier this week on RAW, John Cena confronted Austin Theory and the match between them was made official. So at WrestleMania, Theory will defend his United States Championship against one of the biggest stars to come through WWE in two decades.

And while some fans have argued that John Cena will probably win, others, including some within the wrestling business itself, don’t see it that way.

One such a person is WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long, who stated on Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge show that Theory should win because it’s the most logical and obvious direction.

“He should beat Cena. Cena’s going to leave and go back to Hollywood. Theory’s going to be ready on the roster, so I think it’s a good move for Theory. That’s going to f***ing boost him and help him out.”

Austin Theory’s most recent high-profile match was at the 2023 Elimination PLE in which he successfully retained his US Championship. He almost lost it to Seth Rollins but Rollins was attacked by Logan Paul, whose interference gave Theory enough time to hit Rollins with his finish and win the match.
