Former WWE Champion Teases Ruining AJ Styles Tribute On RAW
A former WWE World Champion may be poised to spoil AJ Styles’ tribute party on Monday Night Raw.
AJ Styles’ WWE in-ring career ended at the Royal Rumble in Riyadh when he passed out in Gunther’s sleeper hold. Gunther agreed to the match only if Styles would put his career on the line, so Styles did, and the “Career Killer” won, just as he did against Goldberg and John Cena in their final matches in 2025.
Many WWE fans want Styles to keep wrestling, but Styles has been adamant that he was going to retire this year. At 48, he felt it was the right time to end his run as an in-ring performer.
Since the February 23rd episode of WWE Monday Night Raw is in Atlanta, WWE announced it would pay tribute to Georgia’s own AJ Styles, with his family, friends, and the WWE family in attendance.
Gunther Wants Everybody To Move On From AJ Styles
In an interview with The Morning Shift on 92.9 The Game, the former 2-time WWE World Champion Gunther spoke, in character, about the celebration of Styles and what he might do.
“I wish everybody would just grow up and be able to move on in life and to realize when it’s time to go and just move on.”
When asked if he would interrupt the AJ Styles celebration, Gunther didn’t exactly say no to that idea.
I don’t know what I’m doing with it now… it’s also a bit tempting to try and ruin that. So, we’ll see.” (h/t Wrestlingnewsco)
