AEW’s Will Ospreay Reveals When He Got Cleared To Return
Will Ospreay made his triumphant return at AEW Revolution and commented on when he was cleared to come back.
During his two years as a full-time member of the AEW roster, Will Ospreay has won the Intercontinental Championship twice and came close to becoming the AEW World Champion.
In addition to his success in the ring, Ospreay is undoubtedly one of the most entertaining wrestlers in the world, willing to put his body on the line to entertain fans in any way he can.
The last match Will Ospreay had was at the AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door PPV in August 2025, in a 10-man Lights Out Steel Cage tag team match, where he was on the winning team. After the match, Ospreay was attacked by Jon Moxley and his Death Riders group, which was done to cover for Ospreay having major neck surgery.
At AEW Revolution in Los Angeles, Will Ospreay made his triumphant return from injury by going after Moxley. While Moxley was able to get away, Ospreay was able to show he was doing just fine by hitting a moonsault off the turnbuckle onto some of Moxley’s Death Rider allies on the floor.
On X/Twitter, Ospreay posted that he had neck surgery on September 17th, 2025, and was cleared to return about five months later.

Will Ospreay Doesn’t Enjoy WWE Much
While there are many wrestling fans who enjoy watching Will Ospreay in an AEW ring, the British star doesn’t seem like much of a WWE fan, so that’s why he feels at home in an AEW ring.
“WWE are on fire now, but like I still as not only just as a viewer but as a wrestler, I just don’t enjoy it. I haven’t watched WrestleMania. What I’ve heard is it wasn’t the best Mania. Maybe like IYO [SKY], Rhea [Ripley], and Bianca [Belair] was the only sick match on there — which, the three of them are sick, three of the best wrestlers period.
But for me, I just never was a WWE guy. I respect it and I respect the guys doing it. That schedule is like crazy, and I commend them all for doing it. I just didn’t like it. I don’t like the show, I don’t like the style of wrestling, I don’t like the presentation. It’s gotten better, I love the one-shots that they’ve been doing. But I’ve just — I’ve never been a big fan of it.
So that’s why when like AEW came along and they went with more like the sports-based style of it, it was something that I could sink my teeth into.”
AEW has yet to announce Will Ospreay’s first match following his return, but he’s likely to appear on the next episode of AEW Dynamite on March 18th.
