AEW Star Claims CM Punk Is “No Longer In The Company”

CM Punk

One AEW star has seemingly indicated that CM Punk has left AEW as the uncertainty surrounding his future in the company continues.

CM Punk has apparently been suspended from AEW since his part in the alleged backstage fight that took place following All Out in early September. The Elite and company producer Ace Steel were also suspended but The Elite have since returned to AEW television while it is widely believed that Steel was fired.

Punk also suffered an injury in his All Out main event that meant he’d be out of action for a long spell anyway but now has come the clearest indication from within AEW that CM Punk might not be returning.

Speaking on Renee Paquette’s The Sessions, Stokely Hathway noted that The Firm’s plans were changed due to someone they were meant to be feuding with no longer being in AEW”

“Everything that was supposed to happen with The Firm did not happen. Back at All out, what happened immediately after the pay-per-view, that was a huge part of it. [The person] we were supposed to directly feud with is no longer in the company.”

The Firm, led by Hathaway, was instrumental in helping MJF win the Casino Ladder Match at All Out which guaranteed The Salt of the Earth an AEW World Title shot. Punk ended the night on screen as AEW World Champion and was confronted by MJF but their feud had to pivot to MJF facing Jon Moxley due to Punk’s suspension and being stripped of the title.
