3-Time WWE Champion’s Career Over After Serious Injury? Huge Update
A major update has been given as one WWE star battles a serious injury that could spell the end of their career.
Piper Niven suffered a serious neck injury during her Friday Night SmackDown match against Charlotte Flair on August 22nd, 2025, in Dublin, Ireland.
Reports soon suggested that Niven’s injury could be a career-ender, and there is no timeline for her to return to the ring. But that doesn’t mean she’s not trying to get her WWE career back on track, as she recently noted that despite struggling to stand, she’s working on being able to get back in the ring one day in a lengthy post on her social media. She wrote:
I am in a good spot rn! I’m sorry I’ve been so quiet with you guys. I appreciate every single message and every tweet (x? Sk?) I get, even if I haven’t liked or responded. The truth is I’ve been so quiet as I know you have questions but the fact of the matter is, I don’t know yet.
It’s 5 months on and some days when it’s bad I can’t stand up for more than a few minutes if even a minute. Do I want to come back? Of course I do. This is all I’ve done and all I’ve wanted to do since I was 16 years old and I can’t imagine doing anything else, I still love it as much as I did the first day I started.
And I feel like I was really just starting to get confident again and open up and hit my groove So all this to say, I hope so. Keep your fingers crossed for me
WWE Star’s Injury Not A Career Ender?
Sean Ross Sapp noted on Fightful Select’s Q&A that when he spoke to Niven’s former WWE partner, Chelsea Green, about the injury, Green didn’t think it was a career-ending one. It was said there were discussions around figuring out what the true nature of the injury even was, and that caution was being exercised.
Green also noted that she and Alba Fyre had been adamant about not simply replacing Niven in the Secret Hervice.
