World Wrestling Entertainment’s biggest event, WrestleMania, is heading back to New Orleans in 2018. According to ProWrestlingSheet, “multiple sources with direct knowledge tell us WWE officials will soon announce that WrestleMania is returning to New Orleans in 2018.”
There’s no specific date announced for the event, but it will likely be the first Sunday in April. In looking at a calendar, April 1, 2018 falls on a Sunday, so that’s probably it.
It’s worth noting that on January 9, Raw will be held in New Orleans with The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels set to appear during Raw that night. There will likely be a formal announcement that day about the date of WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.
The last WrestleMania in New Orleans was WrestleMania 30 in 2014. It’s a bit of a surprise that WWE would go back so soon, but obviously they were pleased with the city and that’s why they are heading back their again.
